“The minister and his cohorts proved to
be agents of the All Progressives Congress after they bought brooms and
engaged youths to stone Mr. President,” Yuguda said.
He spoke on Thursday through his Deputy
Chief Press Secretary, Danlami Babban Tanko, saying security reports
indicated that the attack on Jonathan’s convoy at the Bauchi Peoples
Democratic Party presidential rally was masterminded by Abuja
politicians.
“The governor explained the true state of
things in his position as the Chief Security Officer of the state after
he received all the reports from security agencies of various organs
and he has the right not to tell anyone his source,” Tanko said.
He said the FCT minister had acted in a
manner that offended the northern culture of respecting the elders and
that he had betrayed Yuguda as a mentor.
“The FCT Minister betrayed his mentor
because whatever he has gotten today, Yuguda laid the foundation for him
to get it. Nobody knew him until when Yuguda sponsored him to become
senator,” he stressed.
Asked if the feud between the governor
and the minister would not mar the chances of PDP in the general
elections, Danlami said PDP in Bauchi belonged to Yuguda.
“The people of the state always support
their governor, they will not betray him because he was the only one who
lives with Bauchi people, he sits with them and solves their problems,
unlike the Abuja politicians who only do everything for their personal
gains and none of them will ever come to meet with the Bauchi people,”
he said.
