Dr. Stella Ameyo Adadevoh
When the index Ebola patient insisted in leaving the hospital, she put her foot down and made sure he was confined and quarantined to his bed. If he had been allowed to go into the streets of Lagos, only God knows the number of innocent Nigerians he would have infected and could have caused an epidemic in the country. He lost his life later, but not before infecting her.
After a stern battle, the woman of steel also lost her life, but not after preventing what would have been a monumental disaster. Many accolades have continued to follow her, all of them well deserved, a testimony to the fact that she risked her life to save many of her country people.
Dora Akunyili
Mrs Akunyili who died at the age of 59, was a member of the National Conference at the time she died from cancer.
Kefee
Kefee will be remembered for years to come as her momories will continue to linger in the minds of those who loved her.
Amaka Igwe
Another death that was so painful in the year 2014 was that of Mrs Amaka Igwe, one of the topmost players in the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood. Igwe was also the owner of foremost radio station, Top FM 90.0 FM as well as the CEO of Q Entertainment, the first Nigerian drama series channel. Aged 51, Igwe would be remembered for creating one of Nigeria's best television series, Checkmate as well as the super comedy series, Fuji House of Commotion.
A pioneer of Nollywood, Igwe will also be immortalized for her contributions to the arts as well as being one of the phenomenon behind the industry.
Chaz B
Charles Bruce Chukwuma, known to many as Chaz B, will be missed by listeners of his inspiring radio programme, Sharing Life Issues with Chaz B on Rhythm 93.7 FM. Chaz B who anchored the programme for years, motivating and inspiring fans by his words, died in November, 2014, and till date, many of his admirers still find it difficult to believe he is gone.
Chaz B who was a multiple award winner and greatly loved by all, died after a protracted illness and with him gone, 2014 also took away one of the best voices on radio.
